| New Contract Award February 2011 Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows, a leading designer and manufacturer specialising in metallic high pressure duct components and assemblies for aircraft and aero engines, has been awarded significant new orders by Embraer-Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautic. |
Based in Brazil, Embraer is the third largest aircraft manufacturer in the world producing an innovative range of commercial, business and military aircraft. Bird Bellows will supply anti-ice system ducting components together with flexible joints and other parts for the bleed air system used for cabin pressurisation and environmental control for the new Legacy 450 and 500 business jets. Bird Bellows products are already established in the anti-ice systems of the Embraer ERJ170 and ERJ190 regional jets and the Embraer Phenom 300 light jet. | Factory Expansion January 2011 Senior Aerospace Bird Bellows is increasing the production area at the Congleton factory by approximately 20,000 sq ft, which is an overall increase in the factory floor area of 40% |
The new factory building was formerly occupied by Hans Lingl and is located directly across the street from the existing company site at Radnor Park Estate, Congleton, providing the opportunity for growth with minimum disruption to production as the existing IT, power, security and other services can be readily extended to the new facility. The expansion into the new premises is currently taking place and will be completed during March 2011. The industrial metallic bellows assemblies designed and produced by Bird Bellows, primarily for the safety relief valve original equipment manufacturers, will be relocated to the new facility, and the space vacated in the existing factory will then provide additional production area for the Bird Bellows range of aircraft ducting systems flexible joints and duct components used in both airframe and aero engine applications.
